History
Established in 1998, this golfing group was part of a larger Time Out / Temps Libre initiative for the gay and lesbian community. The golfing group began with 8 members.
Formerly known as the Gay Golf Group (GGG), it has been called the Ottawa Out Golfing Group (OOGG) since 1999. This change was made to reflect the link with Time Out / Temps Libre, the nature of the activity, and to maintain discretion regarding members' sexual orientation while at the golf course, a factor important to some golfers.
Today, the OOGG has over 230 members (and counting) comprised of lesbian women, gay men, bisexual, transgendered, and heterosexual persons.
